Accountability - it will change your life

Something that I've come to accept over the past 10 or so years of my life is that often, it's easier to let myself down than to let someone else down.

If I tell MYSELF that I am going to do something and I don't follow through, the only person who suffers is me, and sometimes I lie to myself and pretend that I'm okay with that.

I can tell you honestly that I am not okay with that, but sometimes it seems easier to lie to myself that actually take action to get closer to my ideal future.

The instant gratification of sitting on my ass or watching TV is greater at that moment than the delayed gratification of doing something for my long term benefit.

Can you relate to any of this? I bet you can. We all can!

So, what's the solution to this dilemma?

There are a few very effective ways that we can use accountability strategies to get us where we want to go, here are some of them:

1. Get an accountability partner. This simple strategy has literally changed my life. Find a person who is also on the path to a better future and ask them to keep you accountable, and in return, you will do the same for them. Each night before bed, you text them your "wins" for the day. Tell them everything good that you accomplished for the day. Next, tell them 1-3 wins that you commit to for the next day that will get you closer to your ideal future self. They will send you their wins every day too.

2. Go public with your goals on social media. Tell your people WHAT you plan on accomplishing and WHEN you plan on accomplishing it. Trust me, these people have nothing better to do than to pry into the lives of other people :) Social accountability is HUGE and it works!

3. Hire a mentor who you pay to keep you accountable and who will not let you bullshit them. Once we $$ invest in our future, EVERYTHIING changes, that is a promise.

Accountability is a life changing strategy and I promise that if you use 1, 2 or 3 of the above techniques, you will see a huge change in your attitude, life and identity very quickly.

Have an awesome day!!
