Addiction is a disease and to me that means that I am not solely to blame for all my past behaviors.
Now that I know that, I am 100% responsible for everything in my life going forward.
I chose sobriety and then I took it one step further and chose an amazing LIFE BEYOND SOBRIETY, and I want you to have that too.
If my life lacked excitement today, I would have gone back to smoking crack a long time ago, my past confirms that.
I actually took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted my life to look like after I got off the drugs, worked with some amazing people to learn skills, invested money in my future, got some much needed mentorship, opened businesses, moved, got healthy, traveled.
I started doing all the things that old Kelly just assumed were out of reach, and I keep reaching for more.
I was told that it's okay to want something just because I want it, I don't have to justify anything to anyone anymore.
The reason that I don't have a problem reaching for more is because I have already seen the results in my life and I know that as long as I keep dreaming, keep visualizing, keep taking action on my vision, that I will continue to feel the hope, excitement, confidence and motivation that I feel today and that my future will keep getting bigger and bigger.
Dan Sullivan (Google him) said that "The only way to make your present better is to make your future bigger" and based on my experience, I completely agree with his statement.
Hope comes from a clear vision of a future we are excited about and motivation comes from the action we take to achieve that goal.
Be honest with yourself:
Do you have a clear vision of the future that you're working toward?
If you don't, you're not alone. Most people don't.
It's never too late to start because as the old saying goes - "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is today."
Every success starts with a vision, it can't be any other way. That vision will probably change over time and that's great, but we must know where we want to go in order to know how to get there. It's very simple.
I would love to help you with your vision now that you're sober so please get in touch with me and let's have a talk and see where you want your life to be at this time next year.
Have an awesome day!
